Here are some astonishing restaurant meal offenders to watch out for:

  • The Sonic Supersonic Cheese burger has 898 calories and 52.6 grams of fat.
  • The Burger King Quad Stacker has 1010 calories and 70 grams of fat talk about a heart-attack waiting to happen!
  • The Wendy’s Baconator triple has 830 calories and 35 grams of fat.

So the question is, do you really want to know many calories you are consuming?

I would think so, because it is about making a knowledgeable choice, and right now most people have no idea how many calories are in the meals they are eating. Consumer advocates say it could be a powerful weapon against obesity, by simply allowing consumers to see how many calories they’re eating when they eat out.

Right now, when hamburgers can range from 250 to over 1800 calories and even coffee drinks can range from 20 calories to 800 calories, and then there are salads that you would think would be the healthiest choice to make when eating out, turn out to be your worst calorie nightmare, it is time to post calories.

Many restaurants will soon have their draw dropping calorie counts exposed. The new health care bill, thanks to President Barack Obama, will require restaurants with 20 or more outlets to post calories on the menu. Some cities already require it, and one of those cities is New York City.

So you think that ordering a salad at a fast food restaurant is your best choice, think again! You need to beware of these high calorie, high fat, fast food calorie shockers:

  • Quiznos Honey Mustard Chicken Chopped Salad with dressing has 1,070 calories and 71 grams of fat.
  • Chili’s Quesadilla Explosion Salad has 850 calories and 45 grams of fat.
  • Wendy’s BLT Salad with home style chicken fillet has 790 calories and 53 grams of fat.

Here are some fast food low calorie salad menu recommendations:

  • Quiznos’s Pan Asian small chopped salad has only 270 calories.
  • Chili’s Caribbean Salad with light dressing has 450 calories 24 grams of fat.

We all love eating out, but with today’s restaurant calorie challenges it is often difficult to stay slim and healthy or lose weight while enjoying your favorite restaurant meal with your family.

You can treat yourself without packing on the pounds or hurting your diet plan! You just need to be informed about the calories in restaurant meals and below are some recommendations on restaurant meals that will keep you slim and trim.


Restaurant Dinners under 550 calories each:

Applebee’s:
