Could this kitchen tool really be our solution to a healthy lifestyle and weight loss. Well the Consumer Electronics in Las Vegas just annouced a new device for weight loss "The Happy Fork for Weight Control". This new device that’s getting a lot of attention is the HAPIfork, which is being described as a “smart fork” that enables you to eat smarter by teaching you how to eat correctly helping you lose weight and maintain a healthy life style. The HAPIfork lets you know when you’re eating too fast. If you eat fast, you are more likely to eat more since your brain doesn’t have enough time to register that you’re full. The slower you eat, the faster you feel full, so you eat less calories during each meal. Studies show that eating too fast can lead to weight gain, digestive problems, gastric reflux, and postoperative complications so the happy fork might just be the solution to slim healthier you.
The fork includes sensors which monitor the amount of food on the fork, how many forkfuls of food you’re eating per minute, and how long you’re pausing between shoveling bites of food into your mouth.
If you’re including too much food on the fork or eating more than once every 10 seconds, it alerts you with a signal that you need to slow it down.
You can also download the data from the fork so you, or your doctor, can monitor your eating habits.
The fork costs $99 and is set to go on sale in the Spring 2013. So check back and we tell where to buy it for the best price.
The bluetooth-connected device, available in blue, green, black, white, and pink, counts the number of fork servings during each meal. It also monitors the time you start and finish your meal, the amount of servings per minute, and your meal duration.
