Blend 1 banana, ¼ cup blueberries, a handful of hemp nuts, 1 tsp. flaxseed oil.

  1. You should stay away from high sugar fruits (great fruits to include are blueberries or strawberries). And a great smoothie to conside is the Dr. Oz Green Shake it has a lot of great veggies that are low in sugar.

    Here's a 'low carb' recipe for an example – 

    Strawberry and Tofu Smoothie Recipe 

    • 1 cup frozen strawberries (don't defrost, if using fresh berries, freeze them first) 
    • 1 cup ice 
    • 1 cup ice water 
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream (to lighten up, substitute water or low fat milk) 
    • 1/4 cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda) 
    • 3 1/2 ounces soft or silken tofu 
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (there should be no sugar in the ingredient list)
