Option 1

Grapefruit Detox Diet Dinner Menu1/2 Grapefruit

4 oz chicken, fish, lean beef or eggs

Unlimited veggies sautéed in olive oil spray

Unlimited veggies with Walden Farms zero calorie dressing

1 cup cooked ancient grains such as quinoa, faro, freekeh or spelt; top with herbs and optional 1 tsp. olive oil


Option 2

Grapefruit Power Protein Bowl:

4 oz grilled chicken, segments from 1/2 grapefruit and 1 cup cooked quinoa over unlimited leafy green, red onion and bell pepper; dress with a squeeze of grapefruit juice, optional 1 tsp. olive oil, herbs to taste

Summer Grapefruit Shrimp Bowl:

Saute unlimited tomato and zucchini in olive oil spray; toss with 4 oz. cooked shrimp, 1 cup cooked spelt or quinoa, juice and 1/4 lemon, optional 1 tsp. olive oil and oregano to taste 1/2 grapefruit, broiled to add sweetness.

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the grapefruit, bell pepper, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and sugar; mix well.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the lime juice and olive oil; mix well and pour over the grapefruit mixture.
  3. Toss well, cover, and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Serving Tips: This is great served over grilled chicken or flank steak, or as a dip with tortilla chips.

Chopped grapefruit is an unexpected addition to this recipe. Grapefruit Salsa is sure to be one of the most unique salsa you’ve ever had!

What You’ll Need:
  • 1 large grapefruit, cut into sections and chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced jalapeño
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
What To Do:
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the grapefruit, bell pepper, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and sugar; mix well.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the lime juice and olive oil; mix well and pour over the grapefruit mixture.
  3. Toss well, cover, and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
